Our VP of Farmer Relations & Processing, Hank Froese, has been making great strides and connections while on the phone with farmers daily, discussing this year’s straw purchasing.
We will be purchasing up to 30,000 tonnes of flax straw this year.
What’s even more exciting, is that this is the first year we aren’t doing paid advertising to buy straw – our contracts with farmers will already cover more than what we need.
That’s about 20,000 – 30,000 tonnes of flax straw that won’t have to be burned in the fields this year.
Last year, PCE purchased roughly 16,000 tonnes of flax straw to process into high-value products for our shareholders. We’re excited for a 25-30% increase this year.
